Councils have safety on their mind..

Local WA Council was concerned that their existing Basketball Backstops was not certified so engaged HiTech Sports to remove them and install new FIBA Certified wall mounted models. Also added the height adjustable backboards for the juniors and senior players.

When everything else now days have to be certified, why not the actual equipment also? FIBA has the toughest standards, hence why there are only a few certified suppliers world wide.

Regional Installation

Even on the other opposite side of this large country, we can install our FIBA Level Three basketball backstops and in ground systems in Onslow WA for their new Sports Stadium. A lot of travel to get there but the result was worthwhile for this small township so they can have the same quality as the larger centres. We also fitted out Onslow's Cyclone Shelter/Sports Centre in 2010 with also certified backstops as well as a motorised climbing wall to top the list.

And another….

And another school is very satisfied that they choose our Stadia Basketball backstops that are FIBA Level two certified and also our Stadia Centre Roll Curtain. They also said, why skimp on quality and certification when these sports centres costs so much and then you could put your students in harm’s way. They love the feel of these internationally certified basketball backstops.

New FIBA Certified Sports Centre

Warwick Sports Centre in Perth has opened with four new courts each with FIBA Certified Level Two Basketball Backstops and height adjustable backboards. Matched with a FIBA Certified floor, this new extension is bringing Perth forward and setting the benchmark with its new high standard. Certification and safety was paramount for the Centre Management who all agreed that this centre would be around for many decades and their customers should have the best basketball backstops available for that time. It was crazy to skimp on the quality and standard compared to the cost of build as often the actual cost of the sports equipment into a venue like this is 0.4% - 1.2% so would you uncertified. Everything in the building has to be certified for Australian Building standards, so of course the equipment should be as well in the interest of public safety.

Speciality Curtains

Speciality Curtains – HiTech Sports also do very specialised curtains such as one we did at WAIS where they required a curtain for the Rio athletes to train indoors for Javelin and Discus throwing. The curtain also had to be used for AV recording so required a dense ballistic mesh to not only stop Javelins but act as a “green screen”. This was the first duel use curtain of its type and works fantastically.

HiTech HotShots Fast Five Netball

HiTech Sports sponsored another Netball team who play in a local Fast Five evening netball competition recently before Christmas. A couple of the players were the regular HiTech HotShots but others were from a few grades up as this was to be a fast and tough night. Although the girls failed to finish in the top three, they had a great night and for most was the first time they had played the modified game of Fast Five Netball. With only five players on the court, can sub anytime during the game, and you also get extra points per goal if you score from the extra outer circle and bonus points in your elected quarter.

But it was an extremely humid warm evening for a tournament and had its toll on the players as the evening wore on.

HiTech Sports is keen to support our local Netball girls where we can.

HiTech Hotshots Netball team

HiTech Sports sponsors a Netball team who play in the local summer evening netball competition and this was their third year. The core players all go back to the Wilston State School Netball A team from grade 5 and have played together since including for their Raiders All Stars Netball club, QCNA and their school team at BGGS.

Maybe even Netfest on the Gold Coast 2016 you could see the HiTech Hotshots.

This year, all the winning teams donated the funds that would have been spent on trophies to Shailer Park Netball Association who had their clubrooms deliberately lit on fire by vandals.

It was a warm evening for a grand final.
